Interview: Scott Fernandez

1. Introduce yourself please?

Howdy! My name is Scott Fernandez and I am a bass player from Puerto Rico that currently lives in Nashville, TN, USA. I’ve been playing bass for about 12 years now, originally playing the Upright and moving over to electric to play rock and metal music.

2.Musical influences?

I am fortunate enough to have a wide variety of influences. Things like Quruli, Yelle, MC Frontalot, Deftones, YMCK, Erykah Badu, George Watsky, and Pe’z are just a small sample of the diversity of the influences.

3.What style of music suits you best?
Probably Experimental Jazz, from what I understand of the genre classification system. I tend to leave that up to the people listening.

4.Projects?
The only thing I do is my solo artist project. I have decided to dedicate all of my time, effort, and creativity to that.

5. What do you expect from Bassmaster competition(Zagreb Guitar Show)?
I don’t expect anything from it. I think it would be wonderful if it helped get my name and “product” out there. I am really interested in sharing what I do with the world so any opportunity I have to do so would be wonderful and appreciated.
